There's a great expression that says, "Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space". When I was going through a big transition period in my life and had moved into a new apartment, I came across this quote and it really resonated with me at that time. I wanted to buy a plaque for my apartment wall as a reminder not only for people who came over but for myself as well. After all, I only wanted to surround myself with people who would lift me higher, be a support system, and help me through the days when it was hard to sometimes find a smile.
Almost 8 weeks into business at the studio and we are building an incredible fitness family day by day. A community of great people who have become our friends.
There is one person in particular who has been with us since day one and has shown a level of dedication to him and his workouts like no other. He didn't miss a workout for the first 6 weeks! Commited to change and growth, pushing through challenging workouts, aches and pains, and bringing a great attitude and energy to the floor everyday!
Yesterday morning Nathan and I walked into the Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids (BB4CK) kitchen excited and ready to pack lunches for Calgary kids. Although all the schools haven't opened yet, there are a few who have already started the school year. We decided that since we are hosting a ShapeShifter 10 day Charity Challenge for BB4CK at our new studio, we wanted to see first hand what the charity did and get to know them a bit better.
